Anointed king in his teens, David had to wait for nearly two decades until he actually became king. In addition to patience, he had to withstand adversity and even threats to his very life. In an age of instant gratification, waiting for God’s promises to be fulfilled in his time and in his ways requires abiding trust in God and faithfulness for the journey. Both the goal and the process are worthwhile when you go with God.
